When should my sessions take place?
Maternity sessions normally take place between week 34-37. Far enough along that you have an adorable baby bump, but not too close to your due date in case you go into labor early.
Newborn Sessions normally take place around 10 – 14 days after birth. This is the sweet spot! But have no fear, if for some reason the session needs to be later, we can always get a beautiful gallery of your baby. This timeframe is in hopes to get the sleepiest, curliest baby in order to achieve all those sweet poses you see here on my site.
What if I missed that 2-3 week window?
No fear! It is ideal to have them as young as possible so they are still sleepy and flexible for posing. However, that being said, just because your child might be a few weeks older does not mean you can’t get a great gallery of images.
Depending on how old the baby is, your newborn gallery may look a tad different. More open eyes, less curly poses, and more wrapped poses. But let me tell you, that does not diminish the cuteness factor one bit!
What do I wear for my maternity and newborn sessions?
For your maternity session I have a closet of maternity gowns for you to choose from. No need to go shopping for something to wear. This session is all about celebrating you and the connection between you and your unborn baby. I want you to feel beautiful! So come try on gowns and pic the one that makes you feel amazing!
If family members are participating, I would suggest coordinating the dress color into their outfits. They can be as dressy as you choose, but most people tend to choose a dressier look to match the gown you will be wearing.
For the newborn session, if you are including parents and siblings in the shoot you will want to coordinate your clothes. My background is white, so it all depends on the look and feel you are going for. I personally love white on white. It gives a very timeless look. But regardless of what you choose, just make sure that your outfits coordinate in color and stay in the neutral family if possible with no graphics or crazy busy patterns that might take away from the image and focus on baby.
For kiddos, depending on their age, I like to do simple and fitted items. For boys I love to do their shirt off or a white shirt with jeans. And little girls, a fitted tank and jeans. It keeps from having bunched up clothes and keeps things looking clean and timeless.
Do you do in home newborn sessions?
Because I need to control the temperature, lighting, and be able to provide all those props, I only do newborn sessions in my studio. I am located in the Steam Plant retail shops at 159 S Lincoln Rd, STE 153.
Do you offer products as well as digital files?
Yes! I offer beautiful heirloom quality items for you to add on to your session if you so desire.

Can my family be a part of my newborn session?
Absolutely! Spouses and children poses are included in the Luxe Newborn session, and for no additional charge in your maternity session. Newborn portraits can sometimes be long sessions for little ones and busy husbands, So we photograph those poses at the beginning of a newborn session, and at the end of a maternity session.
Do you offer Hair and Makeup Services?
Yes, I offer free hair and makeup services for my maternity sessions only! I want you to feel absolutely beautiful for this session. I am a Seint Beauty makeup artist, and love getting to pamper you before your session. No driving from place to place to get all dolled up. It’s all done right with me. You can see some of my makeovers here.
Maternity
Not much! You will want a good supportive bra (strapless – if your dress requires it) and some comfy shoes.
Just shower and arrive with clean dry hair and I will take care of the rest!
What do I need to bring to the session?
Newborn
You will get a full list of what to bring to the session a couple days prior. But just know that aside from the standard food and diapers I have it all taken care of.
All those sweet hats, headbands, wraps and props? I have them all! No need to fuss. Just bring baby and I will take care of the rest.
