It’s tough to put into words just how precious it was for me to meet little Brody and take his newborn photos. Not just because he’s an unbelievably adorable
little guy (but shoot, isn’t he?!) — but because his parents endured such a long journey of trials and tribulations before they finally held this
little rainbow baby in their arms.

Struggles to conceive, IVF, loss, and then Rose’s battle with thyroid cancer last year to top it all off…it was A LOT, to say the least. It would be
easy to lose hope in their situation. Yet, through all the pain and the struggles, they still relied upon God and put it in His hands. I truly
admire how open Rose and Pete have been about their story. It is a story many couples face, and I know it is encouraging to others who are struggling
to hear about others going through the same tough stuff.

Back when Rose was in the thick of all the heartache, I wanted to encourage her — so I promised that when she finally became a mother, I would
be honored to gift her with a newborn session.

And, as you can see, that day finally arrived! Oh, my heart. What a special gift this boy is to his family.

It was really special to incorporate a few props Brody’s parents wanted to include in these photos: a special hat made by his auntie and a blue snuggle
wrap they loved. Props brought from home can present a bit of an added challenge as I am not used to working with them — and, as we all know,
timing is everything with a tiny baby. However, I still welcome parents to bring those special items from home. I cannot guarantee they can be
used, but I will always try my hardest to incorporate them into the session.

To make things even more special, we got to have Brody’s grandma there to experience the fun too. I always love getting some images of a
newborn baby with both parents and grandparents. Those three generation photos have a special place in my heart!

Sweet Brody, no matter where you go in life, I hope you always know you (yes, you!) have been long prayed for and are loved beyond measure. Congratulations,
Cowger family. I know the miracle of parenthood isn’t lost on you — I was honored to capture just a few of what I’m sure have been many beautiful
moments for your sweet family.
